Wiener -Hopf method, being considered as a classical technique, remains one of the most efficient tool to solve Boundary Value Problems with specific mixed type boundary conditions. It also was a source for numerous extensions allowing to build some theories in pure and applied mathematics. The main idea of the method is based on utilisation of the three whales of the theory of analytic functions: analytic continuation, Liouville’ theorem and the factorisation. I will show the historical background of the methods and give a brief overview of past and resent advances supported by a large numbers of examples from different physical and geometrical contexts: integral equations (IE), BVPs and dynamics problems in discrete structures among others.
