del Dipartimento di Fisica presso la Cittadella Universitaria di Monserrato, il Dr.
Sean Connell (Goethe-Universitaet, Frankfurt am Main) terrà una lezione dal titolo

                 An Introduction to Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM)

Cryo-EM is a technique in structural biology that can be applied to samples that
range in size over several orders of magnitude; namely from atoms, to proteins,
to macromolecular complexes, to entire cells.   Here we will provide a general
overview of the approach and focus on (1) the types of samples studied, (2) the
preparation of the sample, (3) imaging the sample, (4) reconstructing 3D structures
from the collected images, and (5) interpreting the resulting structures.
