The legacy of Ibsen is highly relevant to this day, his plays are performed on a large scale in all parts of the world. Ibsen Summer Academy welcomes students’ involvement in this Jubilee.

What to expect

Ibsen’s drama ”The lady from the sea” serves as our thematic compass throughout the week. You’ll engage with its central themes through diverse artistic workshops — textual, visual arts, and sound design—creating a tapestry of understanding that connects Ibsen's ideas to our lives and our global community.

As a participant, you’ll be inspired and challenged by enthusiastic workshop leaders. Beyond the workshops, experience Skien’s rich heritage with social activities including barbeques, bike rides, city walks, and a special visit to the Henrik Ibsen Museum. Just two hours from Oslo by train, Skien offers a blend of cultural history and scenic beauty.
