PhD student: Luca Filaci

Role: R1 - First Stage Researcher

Supervisor: Prof. Gabriella Baptist, Prof. Felice Cimatti

Luca Filaci is a PhD student in ‘Philosophy, Epistemology and Human Sciences’ at the University of Cagliari. His supervisors are Prof. Gabriella Baptist and Prof. Felice Cimatti. The theme on which his research focuses is that of animality and its relevance in the current ecoclimatic crisis. The anthropocentric vision that characterises modern Western culture is investigated, in particular through a philosophical-anthropological lens. The intention is to offer a more integrated image of the human, less detached from the ‘natural’ world. Starting from the categories of relationality and ecological interdependence, an anti-metaphysical representation is proposed, which seeks to overcome the various dualisms that characterise our tradition, culturally and philosophically. This research is also conducted by reconstructing the different philosophical perspectives that have addressed this issue within the history of ideas, bringing them up to date and discussing their centrality in our present, and proposing a new ecopoetic posture as a possible alternative for rebirth from the crisis we are currently experiencing.
