Double Degree

A Double Degree is awarded when students complete a Degree Programme whose curriculum has been jointly designed by two Universities and regulated by a specific agreement. Double Degree students will alternate attendance between the two Universities, within set parameters of course content and duration, and will be awarded both degrees after their final exams, which can also be held jointly.

The Postgraduate Degree Programme in International Relations activated a Double Degree with the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MGIMO), which  is currently suspended until further notice due to the international situation, and a Double Degree with the Dalarna University Centre for African studies.

The agreement with Dalarna University enables UniCa students to attend the first year of the Master of Arts in African Studies (DU) (60 credits) at the foreign university, with a view to obtaining an educational title that is recognised both in Italy and in Sweden. This option is activated for a set number of students from the two universities (maximum 7 students per university).

All information on the Double Degree can be found in the Bilateral Agreement, in the Learning Plan and the Regulations published below.

The UniCa-Dalarna Double Degree is reserved for a maximum number of 7 students, regularly enrolled in the International Relations - Diplomatic and Area Studies (DAS) Postgraduate Degree. Students interested in the Double Degree programme must notify the Student Office (segrstudscpol@unica.it) by email, when they apply for the admission test to the International Relations Postgraduate Degree, as directed in the special notice published on the website of the Degree Programme.

The selection for the Double Degree programme involves an interview in English with a special Commission, composed of the Co-ordinator and two lecturers from the Degree Programme.

The Commission will assess candidates based on the following criteria:

  • motivational interview
  • English language proficiency;
  • any additional language certifications.

At the end of the procedure, the Commission will draw up a ranking of the candidates, which will be published with a special notice on this page.

Please note that the UniCa-MGIMO Double Degree is currently suspended until further notice.

Double Degree selection notices and results are published in this section.
