Abstract

A macrocyclic ammonium cation (LH)+ (L 5 1-aza-4,10-dithia- 7-oxacyclododecane) has been used to control the assembly of a [PbCl32] polymeric anion within the inorganic–organic hybrid compound (LH) PbCl3 that adopts an unprecedented structure.
