Abstract

Previous research suggests that the adoption of environmental strategies and actions can often lead companies to gain several benefits. But how can environmental issues be concretely faced by organizations? In an attempt to provide an answer to this question, the authors of this study have analyzed the emblematic case of the Walt Disney Company and its environmental philosophy. In order to illustrate how organizations can turn words into practice and gain benefits from their actions, the authors used a case study methodology. Disney’s case shows how companies can play a leadership role in the field of environmental sustainability and provides several insights for both research and practice.
