Abstract

Since 2015, the University of Cagliari has been operating in the former military base of Nora, an area located north/north-west of the so-called Colle di Tanit. In this as yet unexplored sector of the ancient city, a large public space has come to light, characterised by the presence of a large paved square dating back to the middle imperial age, decorated with monumental fountains and marked, on the western side, by the presence of artisanal workshops related to the manufacture of bread and oil. The aim of this paper is to illustrate the stratigraphic contexts that have come to light in the most recent excavation campaigns and to provide some interpretative hypotheses aimed at interpreting the urban spaces of Nora between the Punic and the late imperial age.
