Abstract

This paper examines the case of Ms. Chantilly, Musée Condé 472 (13th century), which inaugurates the so-called "Gauvain Cycle". Through the selection of a series of Arthurian romances in which the legendary grandson of King Arthur appears, the codex would in fact constitute ˗ according to the criticism ˗ a structuring force also capable of acting on the text of each of the romances, to which are significantly opposed sections of Perlesvaus and Roman de Renart.

Il contributo prende in esame il caso del ms. Chantilly, Musée Condé 472 (XIII secolo), che inaugura il cosiddetto “Ciclo di Galvano”. Il codice, attraverso la selezione di una serie di romanzi arturiani in cui compare il leggendario nipote di Artù, costituirebbe infatti, secondo la critica, una forza strutturante capace di agire anche sul testo dei singoli romanzi, ai quali vengono significativamente contrapposte sezioni del Perlesvaus e del Roman de Renart.
