Abstract

Power converters have a wide range of applications in energy storage units for e-mobility. In this paper, a dual-loop sliding mode control algorithm is proposed for output voltage regulation and current control of single inductor four switches (SIFoS) non-inverting DC-DC buck-boost converter. The converter and controller are studied as an application for a 48 V battery pack. The average state-Space mathematical model of the system is derived and used for nonlinear controller design. Lyapunov stability theory is used to verify the stability of closed-loop controller. The proposed dual-loop controller is tested using simscape electrical in MATLAB/Simulink. Typhoon hardware in the loop (HIL) test is carried out to ensure the controller performance in real-time using HIL 404 device. Moreover, a comparative analysis with the state-of-the-art PI is also presented.
