Abstract

This essay examines a series of translations of Tuscan and Venetian areas of the Livre de Sydrac, encyclopaedic text composed in Old French in the late 13th century, to verify the hypothesis of the existence of different competing vulgarisations in the origin of the different branches of tradition.
