Abstract

Overall abstract of symposium content and list of suggested speakers - Transition to parenthood represents a complex and challenging process that can result in increased vulnerability to mental health problems, with consequences for couple relationship, quality of parenting, child development, and the family system. Although it seems evident that the entire family is involved, most of the research in the field has focused preeminently on mothers, neglecting fathers, and within a dyadic perspective. With these premises, the symposium aims to explore the dimensions of transition to fatherhood, considering its specificity by a multidimensional perspective, expanding the focus on family relations and well-being indicators during the perinatal period.
