Abstract

The research aims to briefly explore the contextual situation of migrants/refugees residing in Curitiba and attending the two state universities of the city: the Federal University of Paraná and the Federal Technological University of Paraná asking for help and training. Then, they find out their knowledge and use of Communication Technologies (TECOM) and the computer tools they possess. The possibility of generating alternative work is explored using the TECOM to conclude with the real opportunities or not. From a multidisciplinary theoretical approach of the social sciences, it is framed in the constructivist, naturalist and interpretive paradigm of mixed methodology because some quantitative data are used, but qualitative data predominate since an interpretative analysis is favored. As conclusion, there appears the opportunity of online work at home, of educational services, oriented mainly to the language or to the teaching of their native language.
