Per resistere alla violenza: Catherine Malabou

Abstract

A common thread in Catherine Malabou’s rich philosophical production can be considered her intention to resist violence, wherever it manifests itself, in the refusal of submission and through indocility to power. Starting with her dissertation on Hegel, Malabou has problematized in plasticity an important philosophical node, developing its classical references, but also the implications activated by contemporary neuroscience and studies on artificial intelligence. In addition to the beautiful ductility of formation, configuration, and the construction of self and world, Malabou has also thematized destructive plasticity in an original way, confronting contemporary traumatisms, in which a subjectivity ‘desertified’ by indifference is evident. The most recent theoretical proposal is the relaunch of a horizontal solidarity through an investigation of anarchy and its unexpected and surprising revival in contemporary thought.
