Abstract
During the first fifteen years of the XX Century the Italian scholastic debate was animated by two main questions: the control of the state over primary school and the teaching of religion in public schools. Among the various protagonists of those debates, Nicolò Rezzara represented one of the most relevant figures of the Catholic front: author of various books on the school and its legislation, his contribution well represents the evolution of Catholic positions on these issues, hovering between the request of a religiously oriented public school and the opposition to the monopoly regime imposed after the Italian unification. The article aims to highlight the work of this author, which still lacks an in-depth study.File | Size | Format | |
