Abstract
This work follows and expands the studies on the work of engineers and architects in the Kingdom of Sardinia in the nineteenth century with particular reference to the design of infrastructure in the country, compared with the European scenario. By re-reading the career of Giovanni Antonio Carbonazzi (1792-1873), an engineer operating in the Kingdom of Sardinia between the Restoration and the Unification of Italy, it is possible to open new perspectives on the history of infrastructure and landscape. This work would not have been possible without the study of the documents from the Carbonazzi Archive, consisting of the donation that the Grillo Pasquarelli heirs made in 1998 to the State Archive of Alessandria. Thanks to these documents, it was possible to identify the archival materials present in other locations, such as those kept in the State Archives of Turin, the State Archives of Cagliari and the Private Archives of the Grillo Pasquarelli Family.File | Size | Format | |
