Abstract

The inscription is written in Greek on the tabula in a roman sarcophagus reused in early medieval age. Found perhaps at Cagliari, it has been studied since the second half of the 19th Century. Researchers thought that the woman Grecà, named in the inscription, was a nun (monastria) belonging to a group escaped from Eastern Empire during Iconoclastic period. In this paper I propose a new theory, that could be important for the history of Cagliari in the Byzantine Age.
