Abstract

Oral infectious diseases, such as dental caries and periodontal diseases, represent one of the most common infections that severely impact human health. As a result of antibiotics overuse and misuse and the emergence of antibiotic-resistant strains, probiotic therapy has been gradually applied to prevent and alleviate infectious diseases. Lactobacillus is one of the main probiotic genera that has been widely studied for its potential roles on oral health. The aim of this study was to report the effects of probiotics in a pediatric patient with gingival drug hypertrophy.
