Abstract
The paper concerns the interest of the Sardinian archaeologist Giovanni Lilliu in Christian archaeology. Even if he studied the pre-historical Age, he was very interested in the Early Christian and Middle Age. He put in evidence the necessity of Late Antiquity Archeology researches in Sardinia and supported the introduction of this branch of knowledge at the University of Cagliari. About at the middle of the 20th century and despite the archeological methodology used in this period, during his archaeological excavations he was very care to preserve late antique evidence too, for example at Cagliari, Piazza del Carmine; Serri and so on. His contribution to the knowledge of the Late Antiquity in Sardinia is very important, because he had the opportunity to watch sites and situations that nowadays are not more visible.File | Size | Format | |
