Abstract
The lexical field of colors is very complex and characteristic of each culture. Studies focus on physical and linguistic definitions, the symbolic and connotative value, and the social and cultural implications. Literary translators also are participants in this debate, as their contribution seems to be fundamental over all others with respect to a characteristic aspect of chromonyms: the value judgment and the articulated emotional connotations or contempt. The themes of this contribution center around the translation and translatability of chromonyms; specifically, it explores epithelial colors and examples taken from Cuban and Mexican literature.File | Size | Format | |
