Abstract

Goal analysis is to understand, in the books of “relaciones de fiestas” that describe urban festivals in the city of Valencia during the 17th century, the relevance of the emblematic materials among the great number of visual/textual components of the Fest (Poetry, Theatre, Sacred Oratory, Corographycal descriptions, etc.). Not a difference between ‘high’ and ‘low’ emblematic is made by authors, but a large operation for expanding an ‘applied’ emblatic not well distinguished from another inoconographic materials, described or graphically reproduced.
