Abstract

Decentralisation of collective bargaining on wage setting is a widespread phenomenon in many EU countries during the economic crisis. In this paper we analyze what kind of effect the decentralization of wage setting and the introduction of statutory minimum wage could produce on sectoral collective bargaining. The hypothesis that in some Eu Member States, like Italy, this endanger the role of sector collective bargaining is examined.
