Abstract

In Sardinia, catholics and Church slowly became aware of new social problems related to economic changes occurred between 800 and 900. The adjustment of ministry line to new issues of the work world is done , only and partially, in the first decade of the 900s, even when the organizational structure is enriched by Catholic cooperatives and associations in its first trade union. The organization of cooperatives and trade unions, experience an important development after First World War, even with support of some prelates, capable of reaching a larger presence, although it still affected by a poor organization and ability to penetrate among working and productive classes, urban and rural areas.
