Abstract

The majority of sociolinguistic correlational studies usually concentrate on linguistic variables such as the single units of a system or on individual language components, e.g. single phonemes/phones. However, an increasing amount of research has started to show an interest in the correlation between more complex traits, such as micro-systems or sub-systems.
