Abstract
Objectives. The aim of the study, ones it has been emphasized the growing importance of the patient's active role, is to analyze the activities that involve, or may involve, the patient in the co-creation of value in health care. Methodology. After outlining the theoretical framework for the engagement of the patient in the value cocreation, the method adopted for the development of research is based on a literature review on the evolution of value cocreation activities within the patient's system health service. Findings. The research shows the increasing complexity of the analysis model of value cocreation activities through the engagement of the patient, consistent with the trend of the ecosystem of the patient's health care system. Research limits. Given the recent interest of literature in the subject of value co-creation in health care and the limited number of studies on the co-creation activities related value, however, in specific health care settings, it would be appropriate to the development of further studies and that they allow the model generalization analysis. Practical implications. Helping managers and practitioners to identify health practices and strategies capable of enhancing patient engagement in the value co-creation improving performance, within the context of health service systems. Originality of the study. The work provides the first framework, open to further developments, for the analysis of the co-creation of value in health care through the engagement of the patient in optical ecosystem.File | Size | Format | |
