Abstract
The publication of and collecting the proceedings of the International Conference, held in Venice on 2012, represents an occasion to reassess the cultural heritage of the American paleontologist, died on 2002. Throughout the second half of the twentieth century Gould has ignited the debates concerning the status and the aims of the biological sciences, whose he was a refined historian and theoretician, interpreting his profession, as wrote Richard C. Lewontin and Richard Levins, in terms of a public intellectual in support of socialism and in opposition to all forms of colonialism and oppression.File | Size | Format | |
