Abstract
This paper focuses on the trial which involved the memory of Nicolás Blancafort, a merchant from Cagliari, that took place from 1605 to 1623. Through this case study, the paper aims at showing the working of one of most important institution in the Kingdom of Sardinia, when the Tribunal itself was affected by a strong institutional crisis
