Abstract

Digital holography is a full field optical technique which follows in operation principles its analogue counterpart, the main difference being the replacement of the holographic plate with the camera sensor. This simple modification has significant implications in testing methodology and the practical aspects of the technique; moreover the relatively small number of lines per millimeter of sensor severely limits the viewing angle. Recently the authors proposed the use super-resolution techniques to mitigate these problems and showed, by means of sensitivity analysis, that the quality of the results is related to the precision of displacement of the camera during the acquisition. This paper reports the design and calibration of a XY translation stage with no moving parts to ensure the required accuracy in camera positioning. The interferometric calibration of the system is also describe
