Sally Davies returned to the Faculty of Humanities in 2000. She graduated from the University of Reading with a degree in Linguistic Science and spent one year studying at the University of Montreal where she wrote her dissertation on the Subjunctive in Montreal French. She has been teaching English as a Foreign Language for more than thirty years, both at school and at university, and has done numerous TEFL certificates and training courses. She has also written an ESP textbook “Get on Board” which is used in most of the Nautical schools and colleges in Italy. Apart from TEFL, her main interests lie in translation from Italian to English and proofreading and she has translated and proofread all kinds of genres, from scientific articles to tourist brochures, folktales and children’s stories and even a film script
