Maura Pintor is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Cagliari, where she conducts research on machine learning security, adversarial machine learning, and trustworthy AI. She received her PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Cagliari in 2022, with a dissertation focused on the evaluation and improvement of adversarial robustness in machine learning systems.
Her research explores the security, reliability, and robustness of AI models, with applications ranging from computer vision and cybersecurity to large language models. She has contributed to several national and European research projects, including ELSA, Sec4AI4Sec, and CoEvolution, and has held visiting research positions at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the University of Tübingen, and the Software Competence Center Hagenberg.
Maura regularly teaches courses in machine learning, deep learning, and web programming, and is actively involved in the international research community through editorial roles, conference organization, and service for leading venues in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Her work has been published in top-tier journals and conferences, including NeurIPS, ICLR, Usenix Security, AAAI, and Pattern Recognition.
