Alessandro Iannella is an educational technologist. He holds a degree in Humanities with a thesis in "Innovation in Teaching and Learning Latin," and a Master Degree in Digital Humanities - Knowledge Management, with a thesis on "Artificial Intelligence for Teaching and Learning Greek."

For the academic year 2023/24, he is an adjunct professor of "Design and Evaluation of Educational Services" (M-PED/04) and "Foundations of Automation and Programming" (INF/01) at the University of Cagliari, "Learning Management Systems" (INF/01) at the University of Pisa, "Computer Science" (INF/01) and "Teaching and Special Education" (M-PED/03) at the University of Turin.

He has previously taught at the University of Milan (INF/01, SPS/08) and the 'Ca Foscari University of Venice (PF24: M-PED/03). He collaborates as a freelance with various Italian entities, including the "L. Bocconi" University of Milan and the publishing houses Guerini & Associati and Giappichelli. He has worked at the SDA Bocconi School of Management, focusing on executive training, and at the Future Education Modena international center for educational innovation, where he engaged in research in the field of learning sciences and digital humanities.

He is a keen observer of the interplay between computer science, sociology, and pedagogy. He has repeatedly dedicated himself to studying new solutions for teaching humanities and STEM subjects, with a particular focus on the role of metacognition and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the teaching/learning process.
