Pierpaolo Puddu graduated in Mechanical Engineering in the 1986 at the University of Cagliari discussing a thesis on the experimental investigation of the aerodynamic interaction in tandem cascade of a pump-turbine test model operating in turbine mode. After the graduation he has achieved the “Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Fluid Dynamics (Turbomachinery option) at the Von Karman Institute of Brussels and in the 1990 he obtained the Ph.D. in Mechanical Design at the University of Cagliari. In 1990 he began his academic career as a researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the same University, strongly contributing to the development of the subsonic and transonic turbomachinery laboratories and to the experimental research activities of the Turbomachinery group. In the year 2000 he becomes Associate Professor in the scientific sector ING-IND/09 at the University of Cagliari where he teaches Dynamic and Control of Energy Systems and Hydraulics and Pneumatics. Since 2006 he is Professor in the scientific sector ING-IND/08 at the same University and since 2010 holds the course of Fluid Machinery. Moreover from 2016 to 2018 he held the lessons of the Design of Fluid Machinery course and for the A.A. 2019-2020 those of the Experimentation on Fluid Machinery.
