CURRICULUM VITAE Prof. Andrea Mura

Laurea in Fisica cum Laude presso l’Università di Cagliari (1987). Dal 1987 fino al 1989 borsista presso la scuola di tecnologie ottiche dell’Università degli Studi di Cagliari. Dal 1990 ricercatore di Fisica Generale presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria dell’Università degli studi di Cagliari. Dal 2001 professore associato di Fisica Generale presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria dell’Università degli studi di Cagliari. Negli anni 94, 95, 96, 98, 2000 e 2001 è invitato per soggiorni di ricerca di due mesi presso Institut de Physique Appliquée, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale of Lausanne. Dal 2013 è permanent visiting professor presso lo Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials Rug Groningen. Dal 1994 ha partecipato e partecipa a 15 progetti nazionali/internazionali di ricerca; fa parte del Comitato Scientifico e di Coordinamento di due progetti PON (Totale finanziamento 4 MEuro) è autore di più di 170 pubblicazioni su riviste internazionali con referee, ha contribuito a più di 95 congressi internazionali.

AM è un fisico sperimentale con una consolidata attività di ricerca nel campo della spettroscopia ottica veloce, lineare e non lineare. Gli studi sono stati e/o sono indirizzati verso i seguenti campi di ricerca:

Risposta ottica nonlineare in prossimità del gap ottico in pozzi quanitci e microcavità; guadagno ottico, rinormalizzazione del gap ottico, mescolamento a quattro onde e amplificatori eccitonici-polaritonici

Born in September 30, 1960 in Perdasdefogu (Sardinia), he took the degree in physics cum laude at the University of Cagliari in the 1987 and  from 1987 to 1989 he was scholarship holder at the “School of Optics and Optical Technologies” of the University of Cagliari. From 1990 to 2000  he was researcher in Physics at the Engineering Faculty  of the University of Cagliari and from 2001 he is associate professor in Physics at the Engineering Faculty of the University of  Cagliari. Its main teaching activity is on basic Physics, experimental Physics, Physic of Materials and Devices and Physic of Metals among the Engineering and Materials Science Faculties. In  1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, and 2000, he was invited for two month-research stays at the Institut de Physique Appliquée, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale of Lausanne. From 2013 he is permanent visiting professor at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Professor in charge of the Ultrafast Laboratory of the Department of Physics of the University of Cagliari, he is collaborator in more then 15 international/national projects and he is author in more then 170 articles on international journals and author of more than 95 contributions to international conferences. Prof. Andrea Mura has a well-established experience in the field of inorganic and organic semiconductors. These studies are performed using several spectroscopic techniques and under different physical conditions such as temperature and high hydrostatic pressure.

RESEARCH FIELDS

AM is an experimental physicist with a long-standing research activity  in linear, nonlinear and  ultrafast spectroscopy. Investigations addressed or/and  address the following research topics:

  • LOW DIMENSIONAL SEMICONDUCTORS

Optical nonlinearities near the optical gap in quantum wells and microcavities: optical gain, band gap renormalization, four-wave-mixing and exciton-polariton amplifier

  • MOLECULAR PHOTONICS

Excited state properties, excited state dynamics, optical nonlinearities and optical gain in: linear p-conjugated molecular semiconductors; self-assembled molecular nanofibers; organolanthanides: er3+ emission sensitized by molecular antennae for telecom applications. Devices. Laser.

  • NANOSTRUCTURED ORGANIC/INORGANIC MATERIALS FOR PHOTONICS AND    OPTOELECTRONICS

Excited state properties, excited state dynamics, optical nonlinearities and optical gain in:  host-guest nanostructured materials, hybrid nanostructured organic/inorganic systems, colloidal nanocrystals. Devices: Photodetectors and photovoltaic cells.
