Roberta Licheri got her Master Degree in Chemistry at the University of Cagliari on March 2000 and her PhD degree in Metallurgical Engineering at the Polytechnic of Torino in 2004.

At present she is at the Department of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, and Materials Science of the University of Cagliari, as associate professor of Materials Science and Technologies (SSD ING/IND 22, Materials Science and Technologies). She is currently teaching the course Applied Chemistry Technology for the bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.

She is member of the scientific committee of the International PhD in Innovation Sciences and Technologies (IST) of the University of Cagliari.

She is member of the ERASMUS committee for Chemical Engineering Degree.

Her research interest is the synthesis and characterization of advanced materials. In particular she is involved in the investigation of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS), Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) and Ball Milling (BM) processes.

The scientific activity on these topics is documented by over 70 papers published in refereed journals (with 2400 citations and hindex 24), 6 patents and over 60 presentations at national and international conferences.
