Roberto Baratti received the Laurea degree in chemical engineering at the University of Cagliari (Italy) in 1982 and his PhD in chemical engineering at the University of Pisa (Italy) in 1988.

He is currently full professor of Theory and Development of Chemical Processes at the Mechanical, Chemical and Material Engineering Department of the University of Cagliari.

His principal research interests are in the field of chemical process, stochastic process modeling and control.

He is acting as reviewer for several international journals in the fields of chemical engineering and process control.

He coordinated and coordinates several research projects funded either by public or private institutions.

International collaborations: Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana di Città del Messico, Louisiana State University, USA) e University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart (Germania).
