Alessandro Buccini obtained his PhD in "Compute Science and Computational Mathematics" at the University of Insubria, Como. He held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at Kent State University (Kent, Ohio, USA) for two years. He works on the regularization of ill-posed inverse problems, in particular, on image reconstruction, inversion of light scattering data, and applications to statistics.

For the solution of ill-posed inverse problems he uses different methods, from techniques relevant to numerical linear algebra to optimization methods. In particular, he is interested in combining the two domains to obtain robust and fast algorithms.
