Login to UniCASearch
UniCASearch is our discovery tool, essentially a mega-container where you can search and access data from our catalogs, subscribed and/or selected databases, as well as collections of e-books and digital journals.
If you are connected to the University network, the system will automatically recognize you as an institutional user and allow you to access the content. However, you will still need to log in to your personal area if you wish (see UniCASearch features and login to your personal area).
If you are connected to an external network, you will need to log in via IDEM-GARR to view the content (full text). Follow the instructions below to log in using this method.
In some cases, to view the full text you may be asked to log in again via proxy, IDEM-GARR, or enter credentials (username and password). More information on these access methods can be found here.
Accesso tramite IDEM-GARR
If you log in to UniCASearch via IDEM-GARR, you will be able to view the content (full text) of Ebsco databases and access your personal area.
Instructions:
- Go to UniCASearch;
- Click on the top banner “UniCA user? Log in with IDEM-GARR for a complete search” to log in to UniCASearch;
- Enter your institutional credentials (U-GOV for faculty or Esse3 for students without the domain part, so usernameEsse3 and NOT usernameEsse3@studenti.unica.it, usernameUGov and NOT usernameUGov@unica.it) and click “accetto.”
Once logged in, searching on UniCASearch will work the same way as when you are connected to the University network, and you will be able to directly access the full text of Ebsco databases.
If you want to access databases available through University IP recognition, you will be asked to log in again via EZproxy. For resources accessible only via IDEM-GARR, you will need to log in once you reach the resource platform, while for resources accessible via username and password, you must contact your subject-specific library.
Additionally, if you manually enter a URL in the browser bar or open a new window manually, you will exit the proxy. You can tell because the URL will no longer contain the extension unica.idm.oclc.org. More information on access methods can be found here.
MyEbsco account
On UniCASearch, each user also has a personal area (where, for example, you can keep track of your searches). If you log in remotely to UniCASearch using IDEM-GARR, you will automatically be logged into MyEbsco as well and will be able to save and share your searches.
If, instead, you log in from within the University network, follow these instructions:
- Click on “MyEbsco” at the top right;
- Click on “Log in to MyEbsco”;
- Enter your institutional credentials (U-GOV for faculty or Esse3 for students without the domain part, so usernameEsse3 and NOT usernameEsse3@studenti.unica.it, usernameUGov and NOT usernameUGov@unica.it) and click “Login.”
To log out, click on “MyEBSCO” at the top right and then on “Log out of MyEBSCO.”
