He is director of Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Architecture. His research activity mainly concerned evaluation and decision support for complex projects, plans and territorial policies in qualitative and quantitative approaches and methods. He has elaborated and developed models and techniques for evaluation for quantitative decision support based on multi-criteria analysis, decision networks, probabilistic causal models and genetic algorithms.

She conducts research on the management and planning of inland and marginal areas; urban and regional planning, with a focus on accessibility and active mobility systems; and urban regeneration, with a focus on public space and solutions for climate change adaptation.
