The international training of doctoral candidates is ensured both by the mandatory study period abroad of one semester (as stipulated by Articles 11, paragraph 4, and 12, paragraph 3, of the University's Doctoral Programmes Regulation - ("artt. 11 comma 4, e 12, comma 3, del Regolamento dei corsi di Dottorato dell’Ateneo"), and by the cooperation agreements concluded by the Doctoral Programme with partner institutions, namely Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, Universidad de Salamanca, and, most recently, Universidad de Navarra.
Further opportunities for international scope available to doctoral candidates include the Joint/Co-tutelle PhD Degree (Cotutela di tesi) and the attainment of the Doctor Europaeus certification.
