The Academic Board maintains numerous collaborations with international laboratories, sharing research activities and projects that offer candidates the opportunity to carry out part of their research within international research groups.
These collaborations allow PhD candidates to conduct a portion of their research abroad.
Notably, ongoing research collaborations with foreign laboratories include, though are not limited to, partnerships with the following Universities and research institutions.
Period of study abroad
As specified in the University Doctoral Program Regulation, international training for PhD students is supported through at least one semester of study abroad, in accordance with Articles 11, paragraph 4, and 12, paragraph 3. The period abroad must be approved by the Academic Board and may take place at universities, research centers, or institutions relevant to the doctoral project.
This international mobility not only enhances research experience and academic networking but may also contribute to the awarding of a joint or double doctoral degree, based on specific agreements with partner institutions.
Furthermore, if the study abroad meets the required criteria, it may qualify the candidate for the Doctor Europaeus title, awarded upon fulfillment of additional conditions established by the European University Association and the University’s doctoral regulations.
