08.04.2026 EDUC-AI-TION: International Lecture Series on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education

EDUC-AI-TION

The EDUC Alliance – European Digital UniverCity offers students an international learning opportunity developed in collaboration with Masaryk University (Czech Republic), University of Potsdam (Germany), University of Rennes (France), and Aarhus University (Denmark).

Theme and objectives

The “EDUC-AI-TION” series will begin on 5 May 2026. It is a programme dedicated to exploring the relationship between artificial intelligence, university teaching, and educational responsibility, promoted within the framework of collaboration among the partner universities of the EDUC Alliance and beyond.

The course will consist of a series of one-hour online sessions, held from 16:00 to 17:00, involving professors, researchers, and specialists from several European universities. In addition to the synchronous sessions, asynchronous material will also be available on Moodle and accessible throughout the duration of the course.

The aim is to provide an interdisciplinary space for discussion on the main issues related to the use of artificial intelligence in higher education, with particular attention to:

  • the use of AI in learning and teaching processes;
  • the impact of generative tools on knowledge production;
  • assessment, academic integrity, and the transformation of educational practices;
  • student autonomy and self-regulated learning;
  • bias, power asymmetries, and the responsibility of educational institutions;
  • the development of critical thinking in interaction with AI systems.

Target audience

The initiative is aimed primarily at students and doctoral candidates in the field of Educational Sciences, from any year and degree path, but it is also open to students from other degree programmes or doctoral programmes, as well as to academic staff interested in exploring the pedagogical, ethical, and cultural implications of artificial intelligence in university contexts.

Why participate

The EDUC-AI-TION series represents an opportunity to explore, from an international and interdisciplinary perspective, one of the most relevant issues for contemporary universities: how to integrate artificial intelligence into educational processes in a conscious, ethical, and pedagogically sound way.

Through different yet complementary perspectives, the course will provide useful tools to understand not only the potential of AI, but also its implications in terms of assessment, knowledge construction, student autonomy, and the development of critical thinking.

Recognition and certification

Upon completion of the entire course, subject to final assessment, participants will receive an EDUC certificate with recognition of 2 ECTS.

The recognition of credits is the responsibility of the relevant Degree Programme, in accordance with its own regulations.

Application procedure

Applications must be submitted exclusively online directly through the EDUC course catalogue: https://courses.educalliance.eu/course/745 from 09:00 on 9 April 2026 until 23:59 on 30 April 2026.
