The Nursing Degree Course is offered separately at the Cagliari and Nuoro campuses.
The courses are identical, with no differences in terms of training or the qualification awarded. The choice of campus is purely logistical and personal.

The degree course aims to train healthcare professionals with the knowledge necessary to carry out the profession of nurse responsible for general care, in accordance with Italian Ministerial Decree no. 739 of 14 September 1994. This nursing care, which is preventive, curative, palliative and rehabilitative, is technical, relational and educational in nature. Its main function is the prevention of disease, the care of sick and disabled people of all ages, and health education.
Graduates in nursing participate in identifying the health needs of individuals and the community; identify the nursing care needs of individuals and the community; plan, manage and evaluate nursing care interventions; ensure the correct application of diagnostic and therapeutic prescriptions; act both individually and in collaboration with other health and social workers, availing themselves, where necessary, of the work of support staff; carry out their professional activities in public or private healthcare facilities, in the community and in home care, as employees or freelancers; contributes to the training of support staff and contributes directly to training and refresher courses related to their professional profile and research.
The degree allows:

  • registration in the Professional Register
  • entry into the world of work
  • access to the Master's Degree Course in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences
  • enrolment in 1st and 2nd level University Master's Courses
  • enrolment in a PhD programme

Objectives

The educational objective of the course is to provide students with the foundations for qualitative and quantitative knowledge of biological and pathological phenomena, the cultural foundations of pathophysiology necessary to follow medical procedures, including their practical applications, as well as theoretical knowledge of nursing. students must be able to apply, including through practical training, the knowledge related to their professional practice according to their specific profile and be able to participate in the identification of health needs and the identification, planning, provision and evaluation of the nursing care required globally for individuals and the community, ensuring the correct application of diagnostic and therapeutic prescriptions; They must be familiar with the general bioethical, deontological, legal and medico-legal principles of the profession. Finally, they must be able to orient themselves towards further specialist studies.
