The PhD programme in Social Research and Innovation (R.I.S.) offers a third-level political and social science education, with focus on the Mediterranean area.

The aim of R.I.S. is to train researchers and high-level professionals in the field of social, cultural and institutional innovation. It pays very close attention to local/regional development, social integration and cohesion, sustainable development, and the cultural and communication processes linked to institutional innovation.

The programme’s content and methods have been designed with a multidisciplinary and innovative approach. The social science educational project draws on a broad range of sociological and political science disciplines along with Geography, Statistics, Demo-ethno-anthropology, Psychology and Law.
