The title of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), abbreviated as  “Ph.D.”, is awarded upon completion of the doctoral programme, following the successful passing of the final examination, which consists of the defence of a research dissertation that contributes to the advancement of knowledge or methodologies within the selected field of study.
