EDUC online course “Current issues of international environmental law”

We are glad to inform you that applications to attend the EDUC online course “Current issues of international environmental law” are open until October 30th.

This course, delivered by the University of Cagliari and the Universiity of Pécs, begins with an overview of public international law basics to align students from various backgrounds. It then covers two main parts:

  • Foundations of International Environmental Law, including its history, principles, governance, law-making, and enforcement mechanisms.
  • Contemporary Issues, such as environmental sovereignty, the right to a healthy environment, sustainable development, future generations’ rights, environmental aspects of EU trade agreements, and the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.

Learning Outcomes include understanding international environmental law’s evolution, key enforcement mechanisms, and applying legal analysis to current environmental challenges and policy debates.

This 20-hours long asynchronous course will be available on Moodle platform until the end of February and evaluation sessions will be scheduled in October, November, December, January and February (assessment is by a short multiple-choice quiz  (10 questions). The course is passed with at least 6 correct answers).

To attend this course a B1 in English is requested and, after conclusion and positive assessment, participants will receive an EDUC certificate for 2 ECTS (which will have to be evaluated and approved by your University).
