Abstract
In 1943 Cagliari was heavily bombed by allied troops. The previous and subsequent years saw Raffaello Delogu, art historian and Superintendent of Monuments and Galleries and Antiquities of Sardinia, implement all possible strategies to preserve the monumental heritage of the city. The reconstruction began almost immediately, conducted by Delogu himself with a handful of collaborators, in conditions of extreme difficulty. In this study we will examine the choices, divergent and much discussed, taken in the phases of recomposition of some of the medieval monuments of the city.File | Size | Format | |
