Abstract
Learning physics is considered by students a complex and difficult task because it often concerns phenomena that cannot be observed with our senses. It is one of the teachers’ tasks to apply new teaching methodologies to engage and interest students in the experience of learning physics. Art and “visual thinking” are useful tools to stimulate interest in scientific topics, and the use of drawing, in particular “scientific” concept cartoons, promotes the learning of different topics, the imagination, and the scientific intuition, helping to fill the void left by observation with senses. In this work, we propose an educational strategy based on the use of scientific cartoons to facilitate the learning of the theory of relativity in primary schools. We show three cartoons drawn by us, and we discuss the role of the teacher in class activities as a guide and facilitator of the understanding of phenomena illustrated in the cartoons.File | Size | Format | |
