La natura metaforica delle rappresentazioni mentali

Abstract
Knowledge is conceived, from a epistemological viewpoint commonly held, as formal research on the objective properties of the world that is carried out using controlled and literal languages such as those of logic and mathematics. Such traditional perspective on science is now being questioned by cognitive semantics research, which states that human beings' conceptual framework is intrinsically metaphorical. Instead of reflecting on the objective structure of an independent reality, the mind builds itself and moulds the world through shared metaphorical constructions. In this article, we further explore this problem and propose the notion of complex metaphor.File | Size | Format | |
